Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the preferred hours, and the benefits to the employer. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how accounting studies benefit the employer is quite brief and could be expanded to show a clearer link between the study and workplace performance. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although some phrasing, such as 'I want you will decide the hour', is slightly awkward and lacks the professional polish expected in a formal request to a manager.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Apart from this' and 'Moreover', but they are sometimes used in a slightly mechanical or unnatural way. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between working hours and household chores feels abrupt. While the overall structure is coherent, the flow between sentences could be improved to make the writing feel more cohesive and professional.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of word-choice errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'lessen the hour', 'regime', and 'duties affixed with bookkeeping'. These errors do not prevent the message from being understood, but they do indicate a limited range of vocabulary. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more natural collocations and precise terminology related to professional requests and business contexts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'as my college start' (subject-verb agreement), 'according the regime' (missing preposition), and 'I not only have to attend the classes, but also I have a household chores' (article usage and word order). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede communication. However, the frequency of these slips prevents the writing from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is not yet consistent.
