Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You explained the reason for the request (part-time study), specified the desired working hours (Friday to Sunday or online), and described the benefits to the employer (business knowledge and company profits). The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a boss. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of how your studies will specifically benefit the company could be more detailed and professional. To improve, ensure that your arguments are fully expanded to demonstrate a clear professional benefit to your employer, rather than focusing primarily on your own personal growth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical structure with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Currently', 'So', and 'As', to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'I am writing this letter regarding to request'. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical rather than natural. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that transitions between sentences are smoother and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively. You use some relevant terms like 'part-time study', 'Master in Financial Management and Analytics', and 'beneficial'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'I have taken a part-time study' (should be 'I have enrolled in a part-time course') and 'give me the permission of this' (should be 'grant me permission for this'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more formal business collocations would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'regarding to request', 'I have choosen', 'As i will doing', and 'help for company's profits'. Additionally, there are issues with punctuation and capitalization, such as the lowercase 'i' and the comma splice in the second paragraph. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your request. To improve, pay closer attention to verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and basic sentence punctuation to ensure your writing is more accurate.
