Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the proposed schedule, and the benefits to the employer. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the need for English classes. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Dear employer' is slightly impersonal. To improve, you should focus on providing more professional justifications for how your studies will specifically add value to the company, rather than focusing primarily on your personal struggle with the language. The response covers the requirements, but the depth of the arguments could be enhanced to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the reason for the request and the proposed schedule is abrupt. There is also some repetition of ideas, such as the mention of communicating in English, which makes the flow feel a bit circular. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in addition to this') would help create a smoother progression of ideas and improve the overall coherence of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'good', 'learn', and 'work'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'beneficial own my work' instead of 'beneficial to my work' and 'learn fastly' instead of 'learn quickly'. To improve, you should aim to use more precise professional vocabulary. For instance, instead of saying 'my english is not good', you could say 'I wish to improve my English proficiency'. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you express your ideas with more clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. For example, 'I did not understand' should be 'I do not understand', and 'than I also learn' should be 'then I will also learn'. Additionally, there are issues with capitalization and missing articles throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, such as tense consistency and sentence structure, will significantly improve your writing.
