Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to request for changes in my working hours because of my further studies.
The reason why I would like to reduce my office hours is my part time Marketing course, which I am going to enroll in, if you kindly allow me this opportunity.
The hours which I would prefer is from 9:00 Am to 2Pm, as these hours are essential for the office. If you allow me to change my working hours , then i can pursue my course study without any stress.

I would be grateful if you could take this request into consideration.
yours sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal request to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the course benefits the employer is a bit generic. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific details about how the marketing software or presentation skills would be applied to your current daily tasks at the company. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Not only... but also' and 'If you allow me', which help the flow of ideas. However, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, the use of punctuation is occasionally inconsistent, such as the spacing around the comma in 'working hours , then i'. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'pursue', 'opportunity', and 'consideration'. There are some minor errors in word choice and form, such as 'software's' (which should be the plural 'software' or 'software programs') and 'results in the economical growth' (where 'economic' is the correct adjective). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. Incorporating more professional collocations related to business and education would strengthen this section.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'If you allow me...'. However, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'request for changes' (should be 'request a change'), 'The hours which I would prefer is' (subject-verb agreement error; should be 'are'), and the capitalization error '9:00 Am'. Additionally, the pronoun 'i' should always be capitalized. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation will improve your accuracy.
