Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing this letter to Inform you that I am planning to enroll in a part-time postgraduate diploma program stating next month.
Balancing between full-time work with the studies will be challenging, which is why I would like to transition to a part-time schedule. That's how I could give a time for study to.
Specifically, I propose working 24 hours per week ideally from Monday through Wednesday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM. this schedule will allow me to attend my scheduled lectures and manage my academic workload effectively.
I believe my studies will directly benefit to the company. The program focuses on advanced clinical management and healthcare leaderships with updated skills and evidence-based practices. Applying this knowledge in my daily responsibilities will enhance our team's overall efficiency and improve the quality of service we provide to our clients.
Thank you for considering my request. I would to discuss this further at your convenience.
Your sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly explain the reason for the request (enrolling in a postgraduate program), specify the desired hours (24 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday), and provide a logical argument for how the employer will benefit from your studies. The tone is appropriate for a formal request to a manager. To reach a higher band, you could further develop the benefits section by explicitly linking the 'advanced clinical management' skills to specific tasks or projects within your current workplace to make the argument more persuasive and concrete.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is well-organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a single aspect of the task, which helps the reader follow your logic. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Specifically' and 'I believe', which help transition between ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'That's how I could give a time for study to.' Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that referencing is more precise would elevate this score. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for a professional context, such as 'postgraduate diploma program', 'transition', 'academic workload', and 'evidence-based practices'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'benefit to the company' (should be 'benefit the company') and 'healthcare leaderships' (should be 'leadership'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations. Expanding your use of more sophisticated, less common lexical items would help you achieve a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. However, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'stating next month' (should be 'starting'), 'give a time for study to' (awkward phrasing), and 'I would to discuss' (missing 'like'). Additionally, there is a capitalization error at the start of a sentence ('this schedule'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on proofreading for small errors in verb forms and prepositions, and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy.
