Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the HR department, you could have provided more specific examples of how your new skills would directly improve company efficiency. The request for hours is also slightly repetitive and could be stated more clearly. Overall, the response is relevant and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally' to link your ideas. While these are functional, the progression of ideas is sometimes a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is present, but the third paragraph is quite dense and could have been split or better organized to separate the benefits to the employer from your personal skill development. Referencing is generally clear, and the overall flow of the letter is easy to follow for the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'enrolled', 'administrative management', and 'counsellor'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'reduce my duty time' (better: 'reduce my working hours') and 'project's deal' (which is unclear). You rely on some repetitive phrasing, such as 'help in' and 'manage'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise professional terminology and avoid word-choice errors that occasionally make the meaning slightly awkward, though these do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'I have an online classes' (subject-verb agreement), 'I would like to asked you' (incorrect verb form), and 'the reduce my duty time' (incorrect word class). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that modal verbs are followed by the correct base form of the verb. Increasing the variety of error-free complex sentences will help improve your score.
