Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention that the course will help the company be more profitable, this could be expanded with a specific example of how Business Analytics skills would be applied to your current role. The response is clear and fulfills the requirements of the prompt effectively, though it remains at a functional level rather than a highly developed one.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally' and 'which not only helps... but also'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between your excitement for the degree and your inability to work is a bit abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, but some sentences feel slightly disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would help elevate this score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'Business analytics', 'profitable', and 'professional'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'concentrate with full of attention' (should be 'concentrate fully') and 'assist me to be a professional Business Analytics' (should be 'Business Analyst'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. To improve, focus on learning the correct noun forms for professions and common collocations used in a professional business context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing subjects ('available to work' instead of 'I am available to work') and punctuation issues, particularly with the run-on sentence in the second paragraph. The sentence 'could you please change my previous shifts as accordingly' is also grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and sentence boundary punctuation will significantly improve your accuracy.
