Although I am having shift of 8 hours from 10 am to 5pm in the evening ,however i would be appreciated if you could help me by reducing my working hours of the company. Since i have been going for my part time course.

As a result , i am requesting you to shorten my shift for few months . I would like to come office 1 hour earlier so that i could leave at 4:30pm . Therefore i will able to attend my evening classes which starts at five in the evening time.

In view of above, it would be appropriate timing to balance both my studies and work at the same time. The course which i have had taken is a quick-book software learning program which will ultimately be beneficial for my abilities required in my essential work at office. Therefore, i hope you will consider my request and help me in order to complete my studies which in turn enhance my knowledge and working productivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state the reason for the request (part-time study), specify the desired hours (starting one hour earlier to leave at 4:30 pm), and explain the benefit to the employer (learning QuickBooks software). The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a boss. However, the development of ideas is slightly repetitive, and some phrasing is a bit awkward, such as 'request you regarding reduction'. To improve, ensure your explanations are more concise and professional, and avoid repeating the same information in different paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'As a result', and 'In view of above'. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or are used incorrectly, such as 'In view of above', which is not a standard phrase. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help your writing sound more natural and cohesive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'professional competencies', 'accounting department', and 'productivity'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'request you regarding reduction', 'having shift of 8 hours', and 'the course which i have had taken'. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they do limit your score. Focus on learning common collocations and using more precise professional terminology to enhance your lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'from accounting department'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'i would able to enrolled'), and punctuation errors, such as the inconsistent use of spaces before commas. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and consistent punctuation.
