Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the preferred schedule, and the benefits to the employer. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. While you mention the course subjects, the explanation of how these will specifically benefit the employer is a bit repetitive and lacks professional depth. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the structure could be more refined to ensure the request is presented with greater clarity and professional impact. All parts of the prompt are addressed, but the ideas could be extended further to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'What is more' and 'And', but the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. The transition between the request for hours and the explanation of the course benefits is somewhat abrupt. To improve, try to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence. The overall progression of ideas is logical, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural, professional flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'minimising', 'appropriate', 'strategies', and 'productivity'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'utilitarian in terms of bestowing' and 'inhance', which is a spelling error. The phrase 'bestowing valuable tricks' is also slightly unnatural in a business context. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, the control is inconsistent. Focusing on more precise business collocations and ensuring correct spelling will help you move into a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'as of i start study' (should be 'as I am starting my studies'), 'it is three days course' (missing article 'a'), and 'my studies based on business' (missing verb 'are'). Additionally, there are issues with capitalization (e.g., 'monday', 'friday') and punctuation. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. Increasing your focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage is essential.
