Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explained your motivation for reducing hours, specified the desired schedule (7.00am to 1.00pm), and provided a logical benefit to your employer regarding productivity and new techniques. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a supervisor. To improve, ensure that your ideas are fully developed; for instance, you could briefly mention how your specific studies in business management relate to your current role as a production engineer to make the argument more persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'I also want to mentioned', and 'as well as' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor errors in sentence structure, such as the sentence fragment starting with 'Which can be not only...'. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences are complete and correctly connected to the preceding clauses.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'pursue higher study', 'fundamental knowledge', and 'production engineer'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'cut-down my current timing' (should be 'reduce my working hours') and 'future perspectives' (which is slightly unnatural in this context). Additionally, there are minor grammatical errors affecting word forms, such as 'I have gain' instead of 'I have gained'. Expanding your range of collocations would help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'I have gain', 'I also want to mentioned', 'help to increases'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with a slash used instead of a comma and some missing articles. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without fragments.
