Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all three bullet points required in the prompt well. You successfully explain why you want to reduce your working hours to study AI marketing, state the specific hours you wish to work (1 pm to 6 pm), and describe how your studies will benefit your employer by improving company growth and your digital marketing skills. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a boss, although the structure could be a bit more polished. All parts of the task are adequately addressed, earning a solid band score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks proper paragraphing and cohesive devices, which makes the overall progression feel somewhat disjointed. Sentences are often crammed together without appropriate transitions or punctuation. For instance, phrases like 'so i request you' and 'so, i request you' are repeatedly used to link clauses mechanically. While the general message is understandable, the lack of a formal letter structure and clear paragraph breaks lowers the effectiveness of the cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

You make a good attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'digital marketing specialist', 'AI marketing', and 'certification'. However, your range is limited and there are frequent word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'pursue part time course in Ai marketing' instead of 'pursuing a part-time course in AI marketing', and 'our company also beneficial too' instead of 'beneficial to our company'. Vocabulary repetition is noticeable throughout the response, restricting the lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response shows a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on run-on sentences connected by conjunctions like 'so' and 'and'. There are frequent punctuation errors, such as missing capital letters for 'I' and 'AI', missing apostrophes ('moths' instead of 'months'), and incorrect sentence boundaries. Many complex structures attempted are faulty, causing some difficulty for the reader and keeping the grammar score at the band 5 level.
