Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that you want to study programming, specify weekday hours of 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and describe how the new skills could help the company. The benefit is relevant, particularly your offer to take on programming work after graduating, but it is less fully explained than your reasons and proposed schedule. Clarify how the study will meet a specific business need and how you will manage your current duties during the change. The response is also 8 words below the required minimum, so add a little more detail to develop the employer benefit and make the request feel complete. A more formal, direct request would strengthen the letter’s purpose.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a sensible order: you introduce the request, give your proposed schedule, explain the potential benefit, and close politely. This makes the letter easy to follow, and the paragraphs broadly separate its main purposes. To make the progression more polished, use clearer sentence boundaries and transitions. For example, the opening runs together after “I hope you are doin well,” while the schedule and handover details are joined in one long sentence. A separate paragraph for the request and proposed hours, followed by one for the benefit to the company, would improve organisation. The link between your studies and the company’s customer needs could also be made more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “working hours,” “part time study,” “programming skills,” and “pending tasks.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and phrases such as “fast pace society” show an attempt to use broader language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural collocations are noticeable, including “doin,” “redue,” “tranfer,” and “company loyal customer needs.” These reduce the accuracy and professional tone expected in a workplace letter, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Proofread carefully and choose more natural combinations, such as “customers’ needs” and “develop my programming skills.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your request and supporting points. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “I hope you are doin well I am writing” needs punctuation between the clauses, and “I would avilable” requires a form of “be.” The phrase “will make sure all my pending tasks completed” also needs a passive verb form, such as “are completed.” Use a wider range of accurately controlled structures, and check that each sentence has a complete clause and appropriate punctuation. These corrections would make the letter clearer and more professional.
