Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you explain that your course schedule overlaps with work, specify classes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon, and describe how studying accounting could improve your professional knowledge. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the details about your current role make the request relevant. However, the benefit to your employer is only briefly stated: “more knowledge and experience” does not explain specifically how this would help the company or your work as an assistant accountant. The proposed working arrangement also needs clarification, since you say you can work on Wednesday and Friday and after classes, without setting out a complete schedule. Developing these points would make the request more persuasive and fully detailed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter follows a sensible order: you introduce your request, explain the reason, give your class times and availability, and then mention the benefit of the course. This makes the main message easy to follow. Paragraphing also helps separate the key points. Some connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear, however. For example, “And when the college sent me the course schedule” begins a sentence with a linking word that does not fit smoothly, while “And because of it” repeats this pattern. The final paragraph also repeats the idea that the course will help you gain knowledge. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make the relationship between your availability and requested hours explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the main request, including “part-time study,” “course schedule,” “working hours” and “professional career.” However, the range is limited, and several spelling errors—such as “assitant,” “knowlegde,” “buisness” and “repply”—are noticeable. Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, including “I am writing you letter” and “Business account study.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall message, but they reduce clarity and polish. Aim for accurate spelling and more precise workplace and study-related expressions, such as describing the course as “business accounting” and explaining how the skills would support your accounting duties.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “when the college sent me the course schedule then I got to know…” and “As I am studying Business account and I am also working…”. The meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. In “I am working … from 2 years,” the tense and time expression need correction; “I have worked … for two years” would be more accurate. Other examples include the missing article in “I am writing you letter,” the sentence fragment beginning “As I am studying,” and inconsistent capitalisation of “I.” Some punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise forming complete sentences and checking articles, verb forms and punctuation while retaining your attempts at longer structures.
