Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you explain that you want to study marketing and supply chain management, propose working from 4:00 pm, and describe how marketing knowledge could benefit the company through new ideas and awareness of trends. The purpose of the letter is clear and the request is polite. The benefit to the employer is relevant, but remains somewhat general; for example, you could explain how the skills might improve a current campaign or help the company reach customers. Also clarify whether 4:00 pm is your proposed start time and what time you would finish, so the requested working schedule is fully specific. These details would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall structure: the opening states the request, the following paragraphs explain your studies and proposed hours, and the final paragraph describes the employer’s benefit before closing politely. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Therefore,” and “Consequently” help show relationships between ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the sequence between the course schedule and your proposed work hours could be clearer. The paragraph beginning “I want to learn more” repeats the study purpose rather than developing the request, while the final benefit paragraph contains several related points that could be connected more smoothly. Use fewer formulaic connectors and make the progression from reason, to schedule, to workplace benefit more direct.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “marketing,” “supply chain management,” “innovative ideas,” “strategies,” and “marketing trends.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main points, and the intended meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “mitigate my working hours,” “do study part time,” and “connect with new technology for marketing.” “Mitigate” does not naturally describe reducing work hours, and the repeated use of “skills” and “marketing” limits variety. Aim for more precise workplace and study expressions, and check word forms and collocations so your vocabulary sounds natural as well as relevant.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “so,” and “how,” and most sentences communicate their main meaning. Some grammatical errors remain, but they rarely prevent understanding. For example, “I am writing this letter to you for mitigate” needs an infinitive construction such as “to request a reduction,” while “I need to do study part time” has an incorrect verb pattern. In “University of management allows individual,” the article and plural form need attention, and “I would like to work in your company from 4:00 pm” leaves the schedule grammatically incomplete without an end time. Continue practising verb patterns, articles, and complete time expressions while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
