Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing well. This letter is to inform you that I am pursuing a six-month course in AI-powered digital media technology, and due to my studies, I will not be able to work full-time. I would appreciate it if my schedule could be shifted to part-time employment.
I am well aware that this decision will impact my finances, but I would invest in my learning. Moreover, this course requires an adequate amount of time to be spent with full efficiency. It will be unfeasible with my full- time job position to enhance my skills. I kindly request that you provide me with my schedules which suits my preference. Apart from this, the course is not only beneficial for me; perhaps it will be a huge help for our marketing team. As the world is rapidly moving towards more advancements and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, my course covers all the new, updated material. We can do advertisements of our new products with AI videos and scripts, and more creativity will be allowed for our marketing team. I would be contributing to the regulation of content on different platforms and also detecting the risk; it will also give a skill to mitigate upcoming delays in promotion.
I am waiting to hear a positive response from you. Thank You.
Yours Faithfully
Rohit

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address all three requested points: you explain that a six-month AI course requires time, request part-time work, and describe possible benefits to the marketing team, such as creating AI-assisted advertisements. However, the central request is not fully specific: “provide me with my schedules which suits my preference” does not state the hours or days you want to work. The employer benefit is relevant but becomes broad and unclear in places, particularly the claims about “regulation of content” and “detecting the risk.” Give a precise proposed schedule and explain more directly how the skills would be applied to your current role. The letter is therefore only partly developed, despite covering each prompt point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable progression from explaining your studies, to requesting a change, to outlining benefits for the company, and it ends with a suitable closing. Paragraphing helps separate the main purpose from the supporting explanation. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Apart from this,” and “As” make relationships between ideas visible. However, the long middle paragraph contains several different points, and the sequence from course content to advertising, content regulation, and delays is not always easy to follow. Some connections feel mechanical, while “it will also give a skill” has an unclear reference. Use shorter, focused paragraphs and make each transition show precisely how one benefit follows from the previous point.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range for a formal workplace letter, including topic-specific expressions such as “AI-powered digital media technology,” “artificial intelligence,” and “mitigate.” These choices show an attempt to be precise and discuss the course’s relevance. Some less common wording is not used naturally, however: “with full efficiency,” “do advertisements,” and “give a skill to mitigate upcoming delays” are awkward or unclear collocations. “Regulation of content” may also not express the intended idea clearly. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the general message, but they reduce precision. Prefer familiar, accurate combinations—for example, “work efficiently,” “create advertisements,” and “help prevent delays in promotional campaigns”—before reaching for more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including the conditional “if my schedule could be shifted” and the subordinate clause “As the world is rapidly moving…”. Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and errors rarely obstruct understanding. Some grammatical inaccuracies remain: “my schedules which suits” has a number-agreement problem, and “it will also give a skill” uses an unclear pronoun and article pattern. The sentence beginning “I am well aware…” also shifts awkwardly from the impact on your finances to “I would invest,” making the relationship between clauses less controlled. Check agreement, articles, and pronoun references, and divide the longest sentences so that complex ideas remain clear.
