Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you explain that studying a Business Management diploma alongside full-time work would be challenging, propose working from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays, and say your new knowledge could help the company and team become more productive. The purpose is clear and the request is appropriately polite. The benefit to the employer, however, is only briefly asserted; explain more specifically how the diploma’s skills could improve your work or support the team. The proposed schedule could also be clarified—for example, whether these hours apply every weekday and when you hope the change to begin. This covers the task well overall, with some ideas less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: you introduce your request, explain your reason, propose a schedule, and close politely. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Therefore” and “Furthermore” show how the ideas relate. The sequence is logical throughout. Some connections are less smooth because several points are compressed into long sentences, particularly the sentence about the proposed hours and the employer’s benefit. The closing request and thanks also run together without clear punctuation. Separating these ideas and using a more conventional closing would make the organisation feel more polished, while retaining the clear structure already present.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “pursue my part time studies,” “enhance my skills and knowledge,” and “work commitments.” These phrases communicate your purpose, and “accommodate” shows an attempt to use more formal language. However, spelling errors such as “writting,” “appericiate,” “knowlegde,” and “concidering” are noticeable, while some expressions are not natural or precise, such as “according to study rquirement” and “give my sufficient time.” The range is adequate for the letter, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations reduce fluency. Proofread carefully and learn common formal request phrases, such as “allow me sufficient time” and “meet my study requirements.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “so that” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, especially in verb forms and sentence construction: “I have recently enrol” needs a past participle, and “I would appreciate if you can accommodate to reduce” does not form a correct request structure. There are also issues with articles and agreement in “This working hours,” and the final request and thanks need clearer sentence punctuation. These errors do not generally prevent understanding, but they limit accuracy. Practise reliable patterns such as “I have recently enrolled,” “I would appreciate it if you could…,” and “These working hours would…”.
