Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you explain that you want to study for a master’s degree, propose reducing your week from 40 to 30 hours, and describe possible benefits to the business. The request is clear, and the letter has an appropriate opening and closing. The employer benefits are relevant, particularly your reference to improved human-resource and managerial skills and greater recognition for the business. However, some details are not fully clear or developed: you do not specify which days or times you would work, and the connection between the course content and practical benefits to your employer could be explained more precisely. Clarifying your proposed schedule and giving a concrete example of how you would apply your learning would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter is organised in a clear sequence: the request and reason come first, followed by the proposed hours and then the benefits to the employer. Separate paragraphs help the reader identify each part of the message, and phrases such as “Recently” and “as this will help me” support the progression. The opening and closing also suit a formal workplace letter. Some links between ideas are less smooth, especially in the final paragraph, where several benefits are listed without showing how they connect to one another. The sentence beginning “We also be educated” feels abrupt after the discussion of ethics and managerial skills. Use clearer transitions and connect each course topic to a specific workplace outcome to make the progression more consistently fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the purpose, including “reduce,” “part-time course,” “managerial skills,” and “code of ethics,” so the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts to use more specific workplace language. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the letter less natural. Examples include “working durations,” “adequate rest,” “well educate,” “knowlege,” and “recongized.” The phrase “master program part time program education” is particularly difficult to interpret. Choose standard expressions such as “working hours,” “get enough rest,” and “master’s programme,” and proofread spelling. More precise vocabulary for the course and its practical workplace applications would improve clarity and flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate the main request using a mixture of simple sentences and longer clauses, for example, “I would like to reduce my working times because I want to further my studies.” This shows some ability to form complex sentences, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, some grammatical errors remain in verb forms, sentence construction, and articles. For instance, “I would like be working” needs “I would like to work,” while “This part-time studies will equiped me” has problems with agreement and the verb form. “It also improve my managerial skills” should use a correctly inflected verb, and “I was amonged the sellected candidate” needs a clearer, grammatically complete construction. Practise accurate verb patterns and agreement, then check each sentence for a complete and natural structure.
