Dear Alex,
Hope you are doing well. I am writing a letter to inform you that I am planning to learn the computer course for increasing my typing skills, if its possible I would like to reduce my working hours.
The course which I choose it is a part time and it has duration of 6 months. I am planning to take three days off from my workplace so that I can easily concentrate on my studies. Moreover, my part time course is 9.00 am - 4.00 pm so I need to adjust the timings as well.
I believe that this additonal skill helps me alot in my job. As I am working in the IT Department where all assignments based on the computer. If I learn whole software then it will benefits to our company in group discussions.Furthermore, it will alsohelp to do my projects in a fast paced when my typing speed improve and itsincrease my productivity.
Please let me know if you are allowing me to do my part time study.
Thank you

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that you want to take a six-month computer course to improve your typing, propose taking three days off, and describe possible benefits to your IT work. The purpose is clear and relevant. However, the proposed schedule is not fully clear: you mention taking three days off and give the course hours as 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but do not specify which days you would work or the exact working hours you are requesting. The employer benefit is also somewhat general; explain more precisely how the course or improved typing would help with particular duties or team outcomes. These details would make the request more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: the opening states your request, the middle paragraphs explain the course and its benefits, and the closing asks for a decision. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and links such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” show how ideas relate. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger progression. However, the connection between taking three days off and the course schedule could be made more explicit, and the benefits paragraph moves quickly from software knowledge to group discussions and project speed. Use clearer transitions and develop one benefit at a time. A more direct closing request would also give the letter a stronger finish.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “part time,” “typing skills,” “IT Department,” and “productivity.” The reader can understand the purpose and the intended benefits. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, such as “learn the computer course,” “learn whole software,” and “do my projects in a fast paced.” There are also spelling and spacing slips, including “additonal,” “alot,” and “alsohelp,” which reduce the impression of control. Choose more natural phrases for training and workplace outcomes, and proofread compound words and spelling. This would make the letter clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example, “I am planning to take three days off … so that I can easily concentrate on my studies.” Most of the message remains understandable, and the request is conveyed despite some grammatical errors. Some sentence patterns are not well controlled: “The course which I choose it is a part time” has an unnecessary pronoun and an incorrect verb form, while “all assignments based on the computer” is missing a verb. In “it will benefits,” the verb form does not agree with the modal, and several sentences join ideas with commas where a full stop or conjunction would be clearer. Review verb forms, sentence boundaries, and articles, while continuing to use varied structures.
