Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era, social media becomes a well known platform for fame and money. Nowadays, many youngsters visit different locations for capturing the pictures rathar than observing the beauty. I will explain why youth is adating this trend and its drawbacks in upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, there are several reasons why I believe that individuals are doing this trend. Firstly, social media become a neccessity for every person for having fun, some are using it for making easy money rather than doing hard work. For example, if a content creator posted a picture from historical place, they will get praise on platforms such as instragram, and the platform owners give them money, however a normal worker spend 8 hours for whole day to make money. Secondly, the fame is also a major cause why this trend is boosted. Therfore, a person use this picture to show other people how much money they have and show their worth to everybody on their plaforms by wearing expensive cloths on popular places.

Turning to negative expects of this trend. First and foremost, just clicking picture on the place and not looking at the beauty of the place will reduce the value of the place. To exemplify, if a individual went to Taj mahal for a photograph and come to their home, they miss the symbol of love as well as they did not focus on the history of that place. Moreover, when a person visit a park for social media, they miss number of activities which they can do such as playing with their friends and family memebers.

To conclude, I restat my opinion that taking photographs of themselves for getting money and fame are the main reasons. However, it is not favourable approach.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions: you explain the trend through the pursuit of money and fame, then state that it is unfavourable because visitors miss a place’s beauty, history, and recreational opportunities. The Taj Mahal example makes the consequence more concrete, and your position is clear in the conclusion. This meets the task well overall, but some ideas are more fully addressed than others. The money explanation relies on a broad comparison between content creators and workers, without showing how this specifically motivates people to take selfies at famous sites. The point about displaying wealth is also asserted rather than developed. Explain the causes and consequences with more precise reasoning or a relevant example to make the response more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph describing negative effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the main points, and the ideas generally progress logically. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “To commence with,” “Turning to,” and “To conclude.” A few connections are also unclear: “Therfore” introduces the fame point without clearly showing how it follows from the previous explanation, while the contrast between content creators and workers could be linked more explicitly to the question. Use transitions that express the precise relationship between ideas, and make references such as “this trend” and “the place” clearer where needed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “historical place,” “content creator,” “symbol of love,” and “social media.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “major cause” and “To exemplify.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “rathar,” “neccessity,” “instragram,” “plaforms,” and “memebers,” as well as “doing this trend” and “negative expects.” Some words are also repeated, especially “place” and “picture.” Check spelling carefully, learn common collocations, and choose more precise alternatives—for example, “follow this trend” and “negative aspects”—to make your meaning more natural and exact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if a content creator posted a picture” and a sentence explaining what visitors miss. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For instance, “social media becomes” and “social media become” are inconsistent, “a individual” needs the correct article, and “a person visit” does not agree in number. In “if a content creator posted … they will get praise,” the verb forms do not align clearly. Some sentences also combine ideas awkwardly, as in the comparison with a normal worker. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and check that verb forms remain consistent in conditional sentences.
