Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, Photographs are become the vital part of the person's life. Every trip is incomplete without photographs. No matter where you are, it's important to click photos and upload it on social media. Even though, people judge you on the basis of your photos, they judge your personality, dressing-sense, and looks.

I think it happened because of the modern era. Most of the people like to flex their outfits, and they love to tell people that where they are going.

So, that's why they have to upload the pictures as well. One incident happened with me in India. I visited Agra with one of my friends. Agra is the beautiful place known for Taj Mehal. It is the mixture of beauty and history. There is one garden outside the Taj Mehal where entry was not allowed. But I saw that a number of people entered in that place and clicked the pictures without seeking permission from authorities.

At that time, I felt that in India rules are not meant to be followed. one more thing happened with me in my hometown. One person clicked the picture of his wife in front of the famous religious place where clicking pictures were banned.

According to me, It is a very negative trend. Because we have to respect the rules, and people's privacy. If there is any special place which is famous, one can click picture there. But I don't stop the trend to click picture everywhere and every time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The examples provided, such as the incident at the Taj Mahal, are relevant but lack depth in explaining the broader societal implications of the trend. Furthermore, the response falls slightly short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall development of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your reasoning and ensure that your examples directly support your main points with more analytical detail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is sometimes disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Nowadays' and 'At that time', the transitions between sentences are occasionally abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the paragraphing could be more effective in separating the reasons from the evaluation of the trend. To achieve a higher score, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good' or 'beautiful' and repeat phrases like 'clicked the pictures'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'flex their outfits' which is informal, and 'the beautiful place known for Taj Mehal' which is slightly awkward. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Photographs are become'), incorrect article usage ('the Taj Mehal'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and article placement. Increasing the variety of complex structures will also help demonstrate better control.
