Student answer (Band 6.5)

In recent years trend of photography has been increased tremendously. People visited various famous places to capture their own pictures to upload on social media. I firmly believe that it is largely a negative development. This essay will discuss the causes of this trend before explaining why it is a negative development in the forth coming paragraphs.

First and foremost reason of this trend is social media. People capture their pictures to post them on the various platforms of social media. In this modern world, everyone particularly youngsters want to be famous through the digital platforms. Moreover, high -resolution cameras in their smartphones help them to click and post pictures on the social networks.

Increasing trend of photography is a negative development because while being busy with their cameras

they are not able to enjoy the present views, Even though the visited renowned places to enhance their knowledge about those but they lost that precious time in capturing their on pictures. Besides this, sometimes teenagers fall prey of wrong elements of society. Generally, they get addicted to increase their followers. For this reason they upload their objectionable videos on such sites and spoil their future.

To conclude, I assert that photography is good as far as it is related to capture memories for themselves. on the other hand if it is only for uploading pictures for others then it is merely a wastage of time and energy. So people must make their time valuable specially when they visited some specific places to enjoy beauty of nature or for learn something from historical places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about teenagers falling prey to 'wrong elements' is introduced but not fully explained or linked back to the core topic of photography. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of why this trend is detrimental to the experience of visiting historical or natural sites.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In recent years trend of photography'. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between the causes and the negative impacts is smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'social media', 'high-resolution', and 'digital platforms'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'trend of photography has been increased' (should be 'has increased') and 'capture their on pictures' (should be 'own'). The range is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic phrasing in several places. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations related to tourism and technology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the trend', 'the social networks') and verb forms ('People visited' instead of 'People visit'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'Even though the visited renowned places to enhance their knowledge about those but they lost that precious time'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of sentence construction to achieve a higher band.
