Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided regarding social media are relevant but lack depth. The discussion on whether the trend is positive or negative is somewhat superficial; for example, the argument that taking photos is 'good for capturing memories' is a common point, but it is not fully explored in relation to the prompt's focus on people ignoring the actual place. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, you should provide more detailed explanations and specific examples to support your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with,' 'Moving further,' 'To elaborate,' 'To explicate'). The logical progression between sentences is sometimes weak, particularly in the third paragraph where the transition from the positive aspect to the negative aspect feels abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack a smooth flow. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'good,' 'bad,' and 'people.' There are also some errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'wtsapp' (WhatsApp), 'met with some accident,' and 'unfortunatly.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling of common terms and proper nouns.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Taking photographs become a trend,' '90% people uses'), article misuse, and awkward phrasing ('It is both positive and negative trend'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to affect the overall fluency of the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
