Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is irrefutable that taking pictures by individuals has become a fashion nowadays. According to notion, in recent scenario, majority of population go to famous locations to take photos without showing concern with the place. Mostly people do this for the sake of posts on social media platforms. This is a negative phenomenon as they become deprived from learning about the place and its culture.
The prime reason behind to take various pictures while visiting a place is social media platforms. Almost all of the persons in the world have social media accounts on sites such as Snapchat, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook and others. That is why, they upload multi-media on these sites to get more likes, comments and subscribers. Moreover, they boost in front of others when they visit a well-known place. For example, In India, two influencer girls fall down into the river Ganga while shooting a reel for Instagram. Fortunately, a stranger from public saved them. As a matter of fact, people now a days are more keen towards taking photos instead of watching place.
This is completely a negative trend as one spend a lot of money as well as time and efforts to travel the famous locations for learning and cultural exchange. But when they reach there, without consideration about the place they start taking pictures from each and every angle of the place without noticing its value, geography, culture and architecture background. In other words, instead of relaxing, spending quality time with loved ones and admiring the rich history and environment of the landscape or location, they become more indulge with cameras and mobile phones. Thus, they do not get time to create memories and learn new things at new places. For example, In India, many youngsters visit Taj Mahal, the seventh wonder of the world, for pictures without taking knowledge about its history.
In conclusion, It can be said that, people are more focused to take videos and photos when they visit a renowned place to flex in front of their followers on social media. This makes it negative growth because when people do these actions they cannot get time to admire and learn about the place after spending a large budget to go there.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the loss of cultural appreciation, and are supported by examples like the Taj Mahal and the incident in India. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the analysis could be deepened by exploring the psychological motivations behind the behavior more thoroughly. Overall, the task is fully addressed, but the depth of argument remains at a standard level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'As a matter of fact', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, although some sentences are slightly disjointed due to awkward phrasing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the evaluation of the trend, which helps the reader follow the argument easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'cultural exchange', 'architecture background', and 'renowned place'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'boost in front of others' (likely meaning 'brag' or 'show off'), 'deprived from learning', and 'negative growth'. While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score as they demonstrate a lack of precision in more sophisticated lexical choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' missing before 'famous locations'), preposition usage ('reason behind to take'), and verb forms ('they become more indulge'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma placement. Despite these errors, the meaning is always clear, and the errors do not cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions.
