Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this modern era, everyone loves to post pictures and videos on social sites to increase the followers. They are visiting various of places without knowing about the background of that place, resulting into sometimes they face lots of problems due to this. In my opinion this trend have more negative impacts rather than profits such as security problems, health issues, pollution and damage of public property.

Starting with my first example, when people visit the place without knowing about them their life will be danger. For example, people visit hill station and they took selfie from the high site of the hill, there would be slip from there and they got injured. In some cases, people face health issues, In India, people visit Lah where the air level is less than other cities and people suffering from blood from there nose and some breath problems.

Moving Further, people throw waste in this places such as empty plastic bottles, chips and clothes that makes our public places uncomfortable for foreign tourist. As a results, its also effect on economic of our country. Last but not the least, some places government restricts the photography but people take picture of this things that will be a big issue of national security.

In the end of this, i would recommend every person in our country that they do not took a risk of life just for a photo because life is very beautiful so capture the memories of the family, friends and beauty of the earth in camera but with the proper knowledge and permission of the family and high authorities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention safety and environmental concerns, the explanations are brief and rely on anecdotal examples rather than a more analytical exploration of the social media phenomenon. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more depth and logical reasoning. The conclusion is relevant but could be more concise.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Starting with my first example' and 'Moving Further'. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'In the end of this'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'national security' and 'public property'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'increase the followers', 'various of places', and 'air level is less'. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary to convey your points more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('this trend have'), verb tense consistency ('they took selfie'), and article usage ('in this places'). Some sentences are also slightly fragmented or awkward in their construction. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of the essay. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will help you achieve a higher score.
