Student answer (Band 6.5)

Many people these days , are going to famous places for their personal photographs without having enough information about the places . I believe this as a negative as well as a positive trend because it will support the old and local photographer that has been in this field for very long time but without having enough knowledge can lead you into problems like scams and safety concerns .

According to me , i believe this is happening because of social media . Many people these days believe what they see online and never urge to find themselves if its worth of their time and money or not . Some places are genuine and attract customers because they are inline of that work for years and they have built that trust though their customers who visits them on regular basis. By visiting these places , you can help those photographers to make them confident about their work and they can be known for their work in society .

On the other hand , this may lead to scam or loss of money on the useless and unsatisfied experience . They might charge you more than regular prices just because they are famous and sometimes their work is not as good as it was described .

In the end , I would like to say that this trend have both negative and positives forms but everyone should be careful of they are doing . If people are trusting something that is wroth of their time and experience they should gather a little information before going so it does not cause them any problem in future .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why this is happening (social media influence) and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding 'supporting local photographers' is a bit tenuous and lacks specific examples or logical depth. The discussion on the negative aspects is more relevant but remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples of how social media specifically drives this behavior, rather than just stating it as a fact. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more substance to be fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between paragraphs could be smoother. Some sentences feel disjointed, and the logical progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the lack of a wider variety of linking words and the occasional misuse of referencing (e.g., 'this' referring to a vague concept) keep the score at this level. Improving the flow between sentences would significantly enhance the readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on common, simple words like 'good', 'bad', and 'things'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'inline of that work' and 'wroth of their time'. While the meaning is clear, the lack of less common lexical items and the occasional inaccuracy in word choice limit the score. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism, digital trends, and consumer behavior to demonstrate a more sophisticated range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Common issues include incorrect comma placement (e.g., 'these days , are'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'this trend have'), and awkward phrasing. While these errors do not typically impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common slips like missing articles or incorrect verb forms. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring they are error-free will help you achieve a higher band score.
