Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 137 words. Because the essay is incomplete, the ideas are not fully developed, and the second part of the prompt regarding whether the trend is positive or negative is not adequately addressed. The response stops abruptly mid-sentence, which prevents a clear position from being maintained throughout. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, two well-developed body paragraphs with supporting examples, and a conclusion. You need to expand on your reasoning for why this is a negative trend to meet the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using transition signals like 'To commence with' and 'In other words'. However, the abrupt ending and the lack of a conclusion make the overall progression unclear. Paragraphing is present, but the incomplete nature of the text disrupts the flow of ideas. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that you provide a concluding summary that reinforces your main argument. Using a wider range of cohesive devices, such as 'consequently' or 'furthermore', would also help connect your ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. Phrases like 'most of the individuals going famous places' contain grammatical errors and awkward collocations. There is some attempt at topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'social sites' and 'destinations', but the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and correct collocations. For example, instead of 'going famous places', use 'visiting iconic landmarks'. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms to enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'instead to explore' (should be 'instead of exploring') and 'in modern era' (missing article). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and subject-verb agreement. Practice using complex sentences with subordinate clauses to demonstrate a wider grammatical range. Proofreading for minor errors like missing articles ('the', 'a') will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
