Student answer (Band 6.0)
People have interests in different things and activities and they enjoy doing those in their leisure time. Many individuals have a fond of travelling and visiting famous places and taking pictures of themselves. This phenomenon sometimes leads to people not even looking at the place if it is worth it or not. However, I still believe that this holds positive impact in many different ways.
To commence with, people do a number of things in order to enjoy their free time at its fullest. Travelling and roaming around different tourist places is one of them in trending. People get a chance to see historical and architectural places and they take pictures and videos of those places as well as their own, to keep them as a memory. In the excitement, sometimes while choosing a place to visit, some individuals do not even look at the place and start their trip. Although this could lead to disappointment sometimes, it still gives people a number of opportunities. For instance, people get to explore a place and its rich culture and tradition, no matter if it is widely popular on social platforms.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you address both parts of the prompt—explaining why this happens and giving your opinion—the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, you mention that people take photos to 'keep them as a memory,' but you do not fully explore the psychological or social reasons behind the trend of ignoring the actual location. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples. Because the response is only 189 words, it fails to meet the basic requirements of the task, which restricts the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a basic structure with an introduction and a body paragraph. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'However,' but the connection between the sentences is sometimes mechanical. The paragraphing is insufficient; a standard IELTS essay requires at least four paragraphs (introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion) to ensure a clear logical flow. The ideas within the paragraph are repetitive, and the transition between the phenomenon of taking photos and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative is not clearly articulated.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on common phrases such as 'enjoy their free time' and 'taking pictures.' There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'have a fond of travelling' (should be 'are fond of travelling') and 'one of them in trending' (which is awkward phrasing). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to tourism, social media, and human behavior, and ensure your collocations are natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For example, 'People have interests in different things' is grammatically correct but simple, while 'this holds positive impact' should be 'this has a positive impact.' You also have issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. To improve, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and using a wider variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, while maintaining accuracy.
