Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this era, everyone is on social media and everybody wants more and more followers . That's why people visit well known places around the cities and globally, just to take some pictures to post on social media platforms without looking at the place . In this essay, I am discuss about is this is a positive or a negative trend.
To begin with , I believe that everyone is posting on social media especially the generation Z they post every single thing on instagram about their outfits, foods , and new products and they always try whatever is new , unique , and well known . They have audacity to go the popular places before someone else in their friends group go their . and they want to post that first . So, it doesn't matter how much money you spend just to take a photo only to show you are the first.
Furthermore, they also influenced from the popular content creators. So, they watched their videos and want to go their even don't think that twice like how much expensive it is . The content creators are paid by the owner for good reviews and advertisement . For instance, There is a popular content creator go a famous cafe from which he paid to make reels and say good about their cafe. But I see the geniune reviews from the customer it was so bad. they posted about their staff's behaviour , bad taste , poor presentation .
In conclusion, undoubtedly it is a negative trend that people don't check anything and waste so much money just to take one photo .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why this is happening (social media validation) and whether it is a positive or negative trend. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention the influence of content creators and the desire for social status, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a clear, extended explanation of your ideas rather than just stating them. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence needs more analytical weight to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'In conclusion'). There are also issues with referencing; for instance, 'go their' is used incorrectly instead of 'go there', and the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The logical progression is present, but the transitions between ideas could be smoother and more varied. Improving the range of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'well known', 'good', and 'bad'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'they also influenced from' (should be 'are influenced by') and 'geniune reviews' (spelling). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits the score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and focus on correct collocations to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone is posting... they post'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'I am discuss about'), and misuse of articles and prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic sentence construction and tense consistency.
