Student answer (Band 7.0)
In recent years, photography has become increasing common and more individuals visit famous destinations primarily to take photographs of themselves rather than learn about the places they visit. I think this is because of the people are influenced by trends promoted on various social media platforms. As per my perspective both sides need to be considered before reaching to conclusion.
Considering the reasons for the trend to take pictures of their own to new places without knowing anything about it, people are now more influenece by social media and want to become famous as digital creators by experiencing at their own risk. For example, everyone want to famous for unique and creative pictures on instagram and facebook to earn money through online platforms. Moreover, Traveling to new places spontaneously not only makes the journey more thrilling, but capturing your own authentic photos also turns the destination into a uniquely personal attraction.
Despite some benefits, I think this is a negative developement. The main reason is that when visitors concentrate mainly on capturing the perfect photograph, they may fail to understand the historical, cultural, or natural importance of the destination. For example, some tourists visiting ancient monuments spend most of their time taking selfies instead of learning about the history behind these structures. In addition, this behaviour can sometimes lead to disrespectful actions, such as entering restricted areas or disturbing others in order to get a unique picture.
In conclusion, the increasing tendency to visit famous places mainly for taking personal photographs is caused by social media influence and the desire for public recognition. While photography has some advantages, I believe this trend is mostly negative because it prevents people from fully enjoying and respecting the destinations they visit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing reasons for the trend and a clear stance on whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the loss of cultural appreciation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat brief. For instance, the point about 'experiencing at their own risk' is not fully explained or linked clearly to the main argument. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more specific detail or deeper analysis of the consequences of this trend. Overall, the position is consistent and the response is well-focused on the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Despite some benefits', and 'In addition' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow; for example, the phrase 'As per my perspective' is slightly unnatural, and the transition between the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of it could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the prompt, which helps the overall readability of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision, using terms like 'authentic photos', 'uniquely personal attraction', and 'disrespectful actions'. There are some minor errors in word choice and form, such as 'increasing common' (should be 'increasingly common') and 'negative developement' (spelling error). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the control is not always consistent. To improve, focus on ensuring that word forms are accurate and that collocations are natural. The vocabulary used is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication of your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'because of the people are influenced' (should be 'because people are influenced') and 'everyone want to famous' (should be 'everyone wants to be famous'). These errors occur frequently but do not impede the reader's understanding of your message. You have attempted some complex sentences, but they occasionally lack precision. To move to a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex structures are grammatically sound. Increasing the variety of your sentence patterns will also help improve your score.
