Student answer (Band 7.0)
Nowadays, many visitors prefer to visit famous places to click pictures of themselves, without looking at the place. I think this is happening because of the social media and people do not want to feel isolated from the current trend. Moreover, I think it is positive trend as it helps individuals to spend quality time with their friends and families and get the break from their hectic schedule.
There are several factors which influence many people to visit renowned places to take their photographs. The top notch concrete reason is the social media. This is because if any famous personality upload a picture of a particular place on the social media, it becomes trend and everybody wants to show off after uploading their photo on the same spot, no matter how the place looks. Moreover, many well known places go viral on the social media app such as Instagram and Facebook. As a result, Individuals who do not know about it feel isolated sometimes. Hence, it encourages them to visit those places and get photographs to be in a trend without looking at the place.
Although there are some negative sides of this trend such as waste of time and money, I feel it is positive trend. Even after people only take photographs of them without looking at the spot, it helps them to spend quality time with their loved ones. Also they can make memories together with the funny and emotional photographs that keeps their bond stronger. Furthermore, people are getting a break from their hectic schedule which relieves routine work stress for sometimes and makes them happy. Consequently, this trend affects individuals positively.
In conclusion, I think social media plays essential role in encouraging more people to visit renowned places to take their pictures without looking at the place. However, it is positive trend as people get chance to spend more time with their family and friends and also take a break from busy schedule.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument that taking photos helps people spend time with family is mentioned in both the second and third paragraphs without significant expansion. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples or explore the psychological impact of social media validation more deeply. The response is well-structured and covers all requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the evaluation. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Hence', and 'Consequently' are used to link ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the link between 'taking photos' and 'spending quality time' could be more explicitly explained to ensure the reader follows the logic without needing to infer the connection.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'renowned', 'hectic schedule', and 'validation'. However, there are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'click pictures' (better: 'take photographs') and 'top notch concrete reason' (which is slightly informal and awkward). There is also some repetition of phrases like 'without looking at the place'. To improve, try to use more varied synonyms and ensure that collocations sound natural to a native speaker.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are recurring grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the social media', 'a trend') and subject-verb agreement ('if any famous personality upload' should be 'uploads'). There are also minor punctuation and preposition errors throughout. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on article usage and ensuring consistent verb forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
