Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the modern era, people spend most of their time on their mobile phones. There is on going debate that number of individuals prefer to click pictures while outing instead of enjoying the view and nature. Some people consider this trend as positive but on other hand, significant number of citizens consider this trend as negative. This essay will examine both sides before concluding that it is a negative development.
This primary argument by the people who support this trend is that they click photographs for a memory of their visit. In other words, people prefer to post their photos on social media after visit new locations. Additionally, by following new trends, people start making magazines for their travel as a memory, for completion of magazine they need more and more photos. Consequently, people engage their more time for taking perfect picture.
However, this trend also have many drawbacks. One of the major issue is that people forget to enjoy the beauty of the nature, they keep themselves busy in their phones or cameras. This is because they enjoy virtual life instead of real and they try to earn money buy posting video blogs on YouTube channels. For example, people thought if they keep posting traveling blogs on YouTube, earning from online platforms can cover their expense of travel.
In conclusion, this trend has both positive and negative shades. But I believe this trend has more drawbacks and limited benefits because people do traveling to explore new place and spending quality time with family and friends but excess usage of portable devices while outing can distract individuals from nature and family.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by explaining why this trend is occurring and providing your opinion on whether it is positive or negative. Your position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'making magazines' is a bit unclear and could have been better explained as 'documenting travel experiences'. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more specific and fully explored to demonstrate a deeper level of critical thinking regarding the social implications of this behavior.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In other words', 'Additionally', and 'However' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the jump from discussing social media to 'making magazines' lacks a smooth logical bridge. Additionally, some referencing is slightly imprecise, such as the use of 'this trend' which could be more varied. Improving the range and flexibility of your linking words will help your writing feel more natural and cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'modern era', 'virtual life', and 'portable devices'. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation that prevent a higher score. For example, 'click pictures' is informal; 'take photographs' is more appropriate. You also have some minor errors, such as 'visit new locations' (should be 'visiting') and 'buy posting' (should be 'by posting'). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing, as well as ensuring you use the correct word forms in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a good start. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'There is on going debate that number of individuals' (missing articles) and 'this trend also have many drawbacks' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, punctuation and article usage (e.g., 'the beauty of the nature') need more attention. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve your accuracy.
