Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many citizens nowadays travel to many famous places to take photographs of themselves, without looking at the place, In my opinion, people avoiding to explore places and just taking pictures is a negative trend.
People from the past go to famous places and monuments to explore and learn new things about the place. They understand the history of how they built, and how good the architecture is, but nowadays, people's are just get influenced by social media, they were just scrolling social media platform like Instagram, through that they were seeing few members are posting pictures with a background of cool places. They got inspired to go and take pictures just to post it on Instagram.
for example, recently I went to a trip to Europe with my friends, there are many things to explore like food, places, monuments. but they were not even seeing the places with their eyes they just taking pictures and seeing them on mobile screen and they not even enjoying the moments.
When I was kid I go to beach with my parents, that time there is no touch screen mobile phones, we go and play in a beach we'll build house in sand and eat spicy foods in the shops, that was a wonderful memories, but nowadays everyone is trying to save memories through photographs but honestly they were losing good memories.
In conclusion, people can take photographs of themselves but they also don't forget to explore the place because the best memories are not in photographs they are with the heart.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend (social media influence) and the opinion (negative). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the personal anecdote about the trip to Europe is relevant, the explanation of why this is happening could be more analytical. The position is clear throughout, but the arguments lack depth and could benefit from more sophisticated reasoning regarding the psychological impact of digital validation versus genuine experience. The response meets the requirements of the task, but the ideas remain at a fairly basic level of development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'but nowadays', 'for example', 'in conclusion'). There are also issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the run-on sentence in the introduction and the awkward transition between the past and present in the third paragraph. While the overall progression is clear, the lack of varied linking words and occasional awkward phrasing prevents a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. The student relies on basic, repetitive language (e.g., 'famous places', 'take pictures', 'good memories'). There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'people's are just get influenced' and 'they were just scrolling social media platform'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of less common lexical items and the presence of errors in collocation and word form limit the score to the 5.5–6.0 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people's are just get influenced'), tense inconsistencies ('When I was kid I go to beach'), and punctuation errors (comma splices in the introduction). While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors indicates a lack of control over complex structures, which is a key requirement for higher bands.
