Student answer (Band 6.5)
Well, photography is become more popular for young generation. Nowadays, more and more people visit famous places to take photographs of themselves even if they are not familiar with that place. However, I think it has both positive and negative trend.
On the one hand, in this young generation people often takes photographs. For example, couple who wants to planning for marriage and they think about their pre-wedding photoshoots are placed in a well-known and famous places which everyone's knew about that. So that way they can impress everyone by posting on social media account as well as by putting big display in the wedding and showing photographs of themselves. Moreover, some video or photo contestants who regularly visit well-known places just because to explore that area and capture some memories that way they can upload pots on social media like Instagram, Facebook and What's App. For Instance, some video creator visit very famous and biggest Niagara Falls in Canada and at that place they can capture lot of photographs of the nature, falls, and themselves also after taking photos they can show their experience by creating videos and photos and posting on social media so their followers can easily see about that place.
On the other hand, there is a trend in majority people who is not familiar with that type of places and they directly visit without looking at the place because of the sawing some photos and videos on the internet. Furthermore, if someone visit places without looking sometimes it is very bad experience. For instance, last year one of my friend encourage our group to visit nearby park in Hamilton because he listen about that place by their sister and he convince us to visit that park and we agree with him and visit that park. When we reached there the park was permanently close because there is a big fire near the forest. So, our time was totally wasted and we are back without taking photographs.
In conclusion, every time visiting well-known places are not sometimes in our favour. However, who wants to explore more and someone who wants to like photographs and travel so they can visit without knowing place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation for why people visit places without looking—focusing on social media validation and pre-wedding photography—is relevant but could be more deeply explored. The second body paragraph, intended to discuss the negative aspect, is slightly confusing; the anecdote about the closed park in Hamilton does not clearly illustrate why visiting without 'looking' (researching/engaging) is a negative trend, but rather highlights a lack of planning. The position is clear, but the arguments could be more logically structured to fully support the stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'So that way they can impress everyone.' Additionally, some referencing is unclear, particularly in the second body paragraph where the connection between the anecdote and the prompt's core issue (the superficiality of modern tourism) is weak. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between ideas could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'video or photo contestants' (likely meaning content creators) and 'sawing some photos' (meaning seeing). The use of 'big display' and 'lot of photographs' is quite basic. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, it does not demonstrate the flexibility or control required for a higher band. To improve, you should focus on more precise collocations and academic vocabulary related to tourism and social media trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people often takes,' 'someone who wants to like'), article usage, and tense consistency ('photography is become,' 'everyone's knew'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are run-on or lack necessary commas. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic grammatical rules to achieve a higher score.
