Student answer (Band 6.5)

In this contemporary world, individuals are enthusiastic towards traveling as they visit different places as per their own interest and budget. However, not all the people enjoy the views and sense of presence that appears from the nature by being in that moment, instead, they occupied themselves by clicking the photographs and making videos to show the world through social networking sites. I personally believe that this is a negative trend at all for getting a validation for your enjoyment through others.

To commence with, in this scenario the majority portion of the population of this world who travel are becoming the content makers who earns through social media which is completely fine but it is contradictory as well. For example, as per the BBC news around 70% people who travel are not properly enjoying their quality time properly, they seek validation from the other individuals if their expectations do not comply then they suffer from the depression and hypertension kind of issues. Therefore, enjoying solitude and complete nature is really important for enjoying the presence.

Furthermore, the people who make videos and create content which is loved by others also make things worse in their vicinity of the pure nature. To illustrate it with the scenario, a content creator who makes videos just to increase their views they cook the food between the mountains and create pollution, they throw the empty polythene and garbage which ultimately impacts our environment and depicts the negative view towards the human nature. To conclude it, clicking photographs excessively to make them fancy can create a plenty of issues with the nature.

In conclusion, the places which are god gifted, we should not destroy them instead we should utilize our time to knowing ourself with respect of the beautiful nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the writer mentions social media validation and environmental impact, the arguments could be more deeply explored. For instance, the link between 'content creation' and 'depression' is stated but not fully explained or supported with logical depth. The example regarding pollution is relevant but slightly tangential to the core issue of 'not looking at the place'. Overall, the response covers the requirements but lacks the depth of analysis expected for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To illustrate it with the scenario'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, the phrase 'that appears from the nature' is vague. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural, cohesive feel.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'vicinity', 'contradictory', and 'validation'. However, there are also instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'god gifted' (should be 'God-given' or 'natural wonders'), 'human nature' (used incorrectly in context), and 'hypertension kind of issues'. These minor inaccuracies do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision and sophistication of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('who earns' instead of 'who earn') and awkward phrasing ('a negative trend at all for getting a validation'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and missing articles. While the errors are frequent, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main points. To improve, the writer should focus on refining sentence structure and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement.
