Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation regarding 'showoff' behavior is brief, and the discussion on the negative impacts lacks depth, focusing only on the loss of 'internal peace.' The conclusion is slightly confused, as it attempts to provide a balanced view rather than clearly stating a position. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples and ensure your personal stance is consistent throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with' and 'Another one is that.' Some sentences are disjointed, and the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the introduction where the sentence structure breaks down. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'interested in capture the moment' (should be 'capturing') and 'prons and cons' (should be 'pros and cons'). The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'good pictures' and 'many people.' To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to technology, social media, and travel.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('they believes', 'causes which is responsible') and incorrect verb forms ('This essay will discussing'). While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are persistent and occasionally distract the reader. The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
