Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this modern era, many individuals like to visit some popular places to take photographs of their own. They are not aware of most of those places. I believe that modern people do not care about the spot; they just take photos and make videos for social media popularity. This essay will discuss the various trends related to this issue.
To begin with, the primary reason for taking photos is the fame on social media platforms. In other words, nowadays, everyone, including children, youngsters, and older people, is very interested in taking part in the activity of the internet. For instance, if citizens are going for an outing, they will make reels and upload them to their Instagram accounts for the views and also for the popularity without taking care of the place where they are. Moreover, they are not interested in the place, do not want to enjoy the trip, and are collecting memories for others.
The other reason for this activity is the purpose of making money. That means people are uploading content, and if they reach the target, they get paid for their work. For example, paid promotions are very popular these days. If someone wanted to promote their product, they would hire the person who is famous on social media; the public likes to see their content on the internet. This way, people can earn a big amount for their survival.
To conclude, there is a wide range of reasons behind this trend. I concur that people should take advantage of these popular platforms. With this, they should also enjoy the places where they are going to fulfill their project.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the evaluation is quite brief and lacks depth. While you mention social media fame and financial gain as reasons, the discussion on whether this is a positive or negative trend is limited to a single sentence in the conclusion. To achieve a higher band, you should dedicate a full paragraph to evaluating the impact of this trend, providing more nuanced arguments rather than just stating you concur that people should enjoy the places they visit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' to guide the reader. However, the transition between ideas within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. For example, the shift from discussing social media popularity to 'collecting memories for others' feels slightly abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'fulfill their project' in the conclusion, which lacks a clear antecedent in the preceding text. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'modern era', 'social media platforms', and 'paid promotions'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'taking part in the activity of the internet' and 'collecting memories for others' are slightly unnatural. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific terminology. You rely on general words like 'big' and 'popular', which could be replaced with more descriptive alternatives to show a higher level of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'take photographs of their own' (should be 'of themselves') and 'without taking care of the place where they are' (which is slightly awkward). Punctuation is generally correct, but some sentence constructions are repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or passive voice, while ensuring that your subject-verb agreement and preposition usage remain accurate.
