Student answer (Band 6.0)

Majority of individuals visiting the famous places only to capture their own pictures, instead of enjoying and looking the actual tourist places. As per my views, this makes a negative trend on the society.

First and foremost, it can lead to decline the importance of tourist places. To explain this, i will provide an example that the Gen-Z people go to tourist attractions just to post their selfies on snapshot and to make streaks to show their friends that they are enjoying their lives, instead of knowing the actual sacred history of that place. There was a article published in a well known newspaper it shows only 45% of individuals have knowledge of the historical places.

Secondly, outing is just for rejuvenate our minds. If we will go outside, instead of looking the beauty of nature, we will prefer to take ones photographs so it will not make any sense because, the same thing we can do at our home as well.

Moreover, it is necessary to capture the moments that people spend with their family and friends. Therefore, memories will live last longer in our minds and sometimes these memories help to give a chance to live whole life for some people. Additionally, It provides happiness to individuals.

To Conclude, taking photographs of family are friends are help to memorize the moments that spent together, however, people should learn the history and explore the places as well. It can enhance their knowledge and helps other people visit the places which they already visited.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention Gen-Z and social media, the explanation remains brief. The argument regarding the negative impact is clear, but the third paragraph introduces a contradictory point about the value of family photos without clearly linking it back to the main argument or resolving the tension between 'taking photos' and 'ignoring the place'. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims with more detailed examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'There was a article published in a well known newspaper it shows...'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between the idea of 'taking photos' and 'enjoying the place' could be smoother. The conclusion is present but slightly repetitive in its phrasing. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'make streaks' (referring to Snapchat streaks), 'outing is just for rejuvenate', and 'live last longer'. The phrasing 'sacred history' is a bit imprecise in this context. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually accurate. You have a sufficient range to communicate your ideas, but the lack of variety limits the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Examples include 'Majority of individuals visiting the famous places only to capture...', 'There was a article', and 'taking photographs of family are friends are help'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
