Student answer (Band 5.5)

Well, in the contemporary era, travelling has become very popular among people due to this people always visit different places with their friends, and family members during on vacation or weekends. It is commonly seen that now a days more and more people give importance to visit well-known place without search or look on them because they love to explore new things . Here i would like to shed some light on it in the upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, there are many reasons related to explore well-known places without looking at the place. Firstly, capture monument with loved once. To be more clear, when people goes on famous places with their loved once they click photos in their mobile phones and cameras to save it for whole life time. For example- I remember that when I was in India I visit the golden temple with my boyfriend for the first time before come to Canada at that time I clicked a lot of photos in my mobile phone and still that photos are in my phone. I visited different type of places near the golden temple- such as Jallianwala Bagh, Hall Bazaar, Wagah Border. Hence, my experience was really wonderful. Secondly, for entertainment source. To explain it more, some people love to take photos on famous places to do entertainment with their friends. If I talk about my friends they always love to visit white rock which is located in Richmond. It is very big lake and people love to visit it whenever they are free and feel bored at home. My friends are also one of them they loved to go their to enjoy food, playing cards and many other games together.

In my opinion, it is positive trend because when people visit new famous places they become extrovert which help them to make new friends. Along with this, people love to live happy with each other.

In conclusion, take photos on famous places is a good way to expore the world .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a personal opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The explanation for why people take photos without looking at the place is limited to 'saving memories' and 'entertainment,' and the argument for why it is a positive trend is underdeveloped, relying on a brief mention of becoming an 'extrovert.' To reach a higher band, you should provide more depth, perhaps discussing the psychological impact of digital mediation or the social pressure of social media, rather than just personal anecdotes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To be more clear' and 'To explain it more.' Some transitions feel forced, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between the reasons provided and the prompt's focus on 'not looking at the place' is weak. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'capture monument' instead of 'photograph monuments' and 'do entertainment' instead of 'seek entertainment.' The repetition of basic words like 'visit,' 'places,' and 'photos' limits the lexical variety. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated collocations and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'loved once' instead of 'loved ones') hinder the overall quality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as 'due to this people always visit' (run-on/comma splice) and 'when people goes on famous places' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the use of hyphens and capitalization. There are frequent errors in tense usage and prepositional phrases (e.g., 'before come to Canada'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication.
