Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's globalized world, many people visiting well-known places just to take photographs of themselves, without knowing more about place. The main reason behind is that nowadays, social media is very prevalent among all age groups, people are now become social butterflies, so to get spotlight they visit different places. In my opinion, it is a negative development.
The main significant reason for people visiting well-known places to take photographs is social media. People are so influenced by social media that they are ready to visit those place without looking at the place, no matter whether that place is in restricted zone or it is not safe to take pictures at that place.
Firstly, it is too dangerous to do such activities just to take photos. It impact the safety of the person and breaches the security of the nation. People do not care about the consequences of doing such acts. For instance, last month one tourist was clicking pictures near the river and suddenly fell down and died, because it was not a tourist spot so there was no such safety measures and equipments to save him, they just visited that place to click picture without knowing more about the place. It was in Panama jungle which is known for its dangerous animals and quicksands.
Secondly, people visiting such place just to get views and increase their online income. However, it is not a good practice to visit such places without knowing about the place. It is crucial to do thorough research in advance before visiting such places. For instance, youngsters like to visit adventurous places to become famous without knowing more about place.
In conclusion, although visiting different countries allow people to know more about culture, it is crucial to have full knowledge about the place where you are going to visit as far as the matter of safety and prosperity is concerned.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the link to social media is well-established, the explanation of why people ignore the actual location is repetitive. The example provided regarding the Panama jungle is specific, but the connection to the prompt's focus on 'taking photographs without looking at the place' could be more nuanced. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'positive/negative' aspects with more depth and less generalization.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally weak (e.g., 'without knowing more about place' lacks an article). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the social media influence and the safety consequences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall cohesion would benefit from a wider variety of linking words and better control over pronoun referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. Phrases like 'social butterflies' and 'get spotlight' are slightly informal or imprecise in this context. There are also recurring issues with word choice and collocations, such as 'without knowing more about place' (missing 'the') and 'it impact the safety' (incorrect verb form). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary, the range is limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the ideas being presented.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include missing articles ('about place' instead of 'about the place'), subject-verb agreement errors ('it impact' instead of 'it impacts'), and awkward phrasing ('people are now become social butterflies'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction, specifically article usage and verb tense consistency, before attempting more complex structures.
