Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary society, people prefer to visit at famous places and love to take the pictures, without any further research about that particular place. There are number of reasons behind it such as social media. As per my understanding, it has positive and negative trend. In this statement, I would like to stand both sides.
To begin with positive trend, based on latest reports, a large number of people working longer hours as compare to past. I believe, inflation is the main reason behind this shifting. This new trend give them a new reason to go out and explore new place. These activities help them to rest their mental well-being and they an excuse to have a small break from their busy schedule. Moreover, when people visit at tourist places, they generate revenue for local communities such as booking hotel stay, eating food at local restaurants and buying other services.
On the other hand, sometimes individuals waste their time and money due lack of proper research. For instance, I visited at Lake Louise last week. I was obsessed from social media pictures and videos. When I visited in person, it was not that much attractive which I used to saw on the internet. Overall, I wasted a significant amount of money and time. Furthermore, as per recent report, many countries are suffering through inflation crisis and people are working hard to fulfil their basic needs. On top of that these materialistic things attract them for over spending. These additional expenses pushing them towards to debts, which is a negative development for upcoming future.
To conclude, travel is a best therapy on the earth. However, it is crucial to make our decisions carefully. Always explore the places in advance before visit there, which can save people's significant amount of money and time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation for why people take photos without looking at the place is briefly attributed to social media, but the essay then shifts focus to general travel motivations and inflation, which are only tangentially related to the specific behavior of 'photographing without looking.' The position is clear, but the arguments regarding the 'positive' aspect are not strongly linked to the core topic of the prompt. To improve, ensure that every paragraph directly addresses the specific behavior mentioned in the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'On the other hand,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the logical flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the sudden introduction of inflation as a reason for travel. Referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be more effectively used to separate the reasons for the trend from the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'mental well-being' and 'materialistic things,' but there are also persistent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'visit at famous places' (should be 'visit famous places') and 'fulfil their basic needs' (should be 'meet their basic needs'). While the range is sufficient to communicate, the errors in collocation occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions ('visit at Lake Louise'), article usage, and verb forms ('which I used to saw'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'This new trend give them a new reason,' which lacks subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and prepositional accuracy would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
