Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the recent times, we have seen a trend where more and more people are travelling to famous locations around the world, for the sole purpose of taking pictures of themselves without even considering the location. we will discuss the reason behind this and advantages and disadvantages of it as well. The topic is discussed in the following paragraphs:
To begin with, the most common factor of this recent development is increment of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) in people. That means, when individuals see posts of public figures and their friends on social media visting a particular famous place, they tend to think that they are missing out on something. As a result, People end up visiting that place without even looking at the surroundings, transportation facilities and accomodation.
However, this trend has some advantages and disadvantages of its own. Looking at the positive side, It has been observed that sometimes individuals gets to know about the places that they would never know if it wasn't on social media and it ends up being a very memorable trip of their life. On the contrary, some visitors complain about rush, difficulty in finding transportation and food etc., which no one really mentions on social media. In addition, Sometimes tourists experience a huge difference between the photos and the actual site because most of the time people edit their posts drastically before uploading them on social media platforms.
In concusion, it can be said that visting places advertised on online platforms is not a bad thing but adaquate reasearch is necessary before actually visiting the place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend (FOMO and social media influence) and discussing both positive and negative aspects. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the positive aspect mentioned—discovering new places—is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples or elaborate on the consequences of these trends. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the argument is limited, which keeps the response at a mid-level band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, but the structure of the introduction is a bit formulaic. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas within paragraphs are more tightly connected would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'public figures', 'surroundings', and 'drastically'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'increment of FOMO' (should be 'increase in') and 'visting' (spelling error). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring correct spelling throughout your work.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'In the recent times' (should be 'In recent times'), 'individuals gets' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'adaquate reasearch' (spelling). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some unnecessary capitalization (e.g., 'People', 'It'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and basic spelling.
