Student answer (Band 6.0)

Undoubtedly, with the access of smartphones taking pictures has been become pivotal part majority modern public. So, it is argued that many people click photographs on famous location, even without observing at place. I think this is happening because smartphone made easier to taking pictures and most of the young people want to post it on their social media platforms. This phenomena has other several causes which I will explain further.

To commence with, the access of camera in phone made convenient for people to click pictures, which was not possible in older phones. Even, populace can take as good as camera quality photos with their phones. In addition, people can now post their photos on social media on the spot, which triggers young people to click pictures. An epitomize this could be CNN report by John Smith, In 2023 Smith interviewed 20 youngsters in Taj Mahal, India about what they know about it. Surprisingly, none of them knew the history of this place their answer were same they just want to click pictures.

It is a negative trend due to some reasons. The first reason some individual does not like to be in pictures, thus without their permission they are captured and posted on online media platforms. Thus, their privacy is impacted. For example, when unknown women's pictures are clicked with unknown men.

In conclusion, it is clear that the advancement of smartphone made easier to carry as camera as a phone. But clicking pictures blindly is not a positive sign of good society. Therefore, people should know about that place and try explain the importance through their image.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media and camera accessibility, the explanation remains superficial. The example regarding the Taj Mahal is relevant, but the discussion on the negative impact (privacy) is underdeveloped and lacks a clear link to the main topic of 'not looking at the place'. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or broader implications.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'An epitomize this could be'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the link between taking photos and the privacy of strangers is not fully integrated into the main argument. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'social media platforms' and 'advancement'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'access of smartphones' instead of 'accessibility of smartphones' and 'populace' used incorrectly to mean 'people'. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'taking pictures has been become'. Expanding your range of collocations and refining your word choice will help you reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'smartphone made easier to taking pictures' (should be 'smartphones have made it easier to take pictures') and 'without observing at place' (should be 'without observing the place'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing prepositions and incorrect verb forms.
