Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media influence and economic benefits, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The essay is also slightly under the minimum word count (249 words), which necessitates a penalty in Task Achievement as the response is not fully developed. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To embark with', 'Furthermore', and 'Consequently'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To embark with', which is not standard English. Referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall flow is occasionally interrupted by simplistic sentence structures. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'self-centered', 'self-obsessed', and 'fast-paced', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing and minor errors, such as 'in trend place' instead of 'trending locations' and 'trough relevent businesses' (spelling error). The repetition of words like 'generate' and 'visit' limits your score. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations, and ensure you proofread for spelling errors that can distract the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include 'such kind of travelling have' (subject-verb agreement), 'drawback of this can not be unseen' (awkward phrasing), and 'it does brings' (incorrect verb form). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tense usage, and refining your control over complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
