Student answer (Band 5.5)

Majority of individuals are visiting the places which are already on hype to take the pictures without even having a proper knowledge and looking at the place. So it is happening because of social media trend which is going on nowadays and obviously it is unfavourable trend according to me.

So to initiate, Public is going to places which are hyped currently because they want to make money with the online content. To explain, Numerous of citizens are going to specific place which is already being promoted by everyone so when they are promoting the same thing they will also become rich by showing the same destination.Secondly they will have a couple of memories which will stay with them for the whole life as photographs For instance,If we talk about instagram social media app if a person is crossing one million views on specific content he or she will be getting 500 dollars in canadian currency according to recent survey conducted by Prime asia tv.

On the other hand , it also put negative effect on the current generation To clarify this children who are just growing they are also seeing this images and want to go at that place because there are phones in every house so infants are watching them and wanting their parents to take them also at that place For specimen, I recently saw at hindustan times newspaper that one child who is just 15 years old is giving threat to his parents that take me to maldives as he saw on social media place pictures otherwise he will be running away from them and never come back so the parents are begging in front of public to support them financially so that they can fulfil his need.

To conclude, People should go on the place which they know its better and not to post any stories on social media that can create any effect on upcoming generations because it is a negative trend

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The argument regarding financial gain from social media is a relevant point, but the example provided about a 15-year-old threatening his parents is extreme and lacks logical connection to the broader trend of visiting places for photos. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more balanced and better reasoned to reach a higher band. The response stays on topic throughout, but the depth of analysis is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or awkward, such as 'So to initiate' and 'For specimen'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second body paragraph. While there is an overall progression, the logical flow is hindered by these repetitive and sometimes misused linking phrases. More variety and natural transitions would improve the coherence of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'things'. Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'already on hype' or 'put negative effect'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or varied vocabulary limits the score. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding informal phrasing like 'infants are watching them'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Issues include missing articles ('at hindustan times newspaper'), incorrect verb forms ('is already being promoted'), and awkward phrasing ('People should go on the place which they know its better'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall clarity and flow of the writing.
