Student answer (Band 5.0)

We are living in a modern society where people are busy in capturing the moments from their phones instead of experience them with reality. There is so much around us if we want to see and experience it like places to visit, mountains museum. But in reality we are watching it through other glance this happens because we believe in people's suggestion, their opinions instead of our own.

More and More people are so self absorbed leaving behind the reality and following the new trends day by day. For example: if one of my friends posted a snap on social media of her with Tesla everyone believes that she might have bought the car but in reality its the trap we are going in. But the truth might be she was going to shopping or buying a groceries where she saw the Tesla. I Totally believe it is the negative trend which we are setting.

In my opinion the future generation need to be more adventures to experience all the reality the beauty around us instead of focusing on the social media platforms. I personally travelled similar places where they don't allowed me to click pictures and only visit in some locations I able to gather some pictures of amazing crafts to show the authenticity and keep save for future reference. some places only allowed visitation and no picture because of privacy and we need to respect that. To sum up I agree that people should gain some knowledge and go to the places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear negative stance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The example regarding the Tesla is slightly confusing and does not fully illustrate why people prioritize photos over the experience itself. The argument could be strengthened by exploring the psychological need for social validation or the 'fear of missing out' (FOMO). While the position is clear, the supporting arguments lack depth and the connection between the examples and the main topic is occasionally tenuous, limiting the score to a 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between sentences is often disjointed. Transitions are frequently missing or used incorrectly, such as the abrupt shift from the Tesla example to the conclusion. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, making the progression of ideas feel repetitive. For instance, the transition 'But in reality' is used multiple times in a way that does not effectively link the preceding thought to the next. Improved use of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in contrast' would help create a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'watching it through other glance' and 'keep save for future reference'. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with collocations, such as 'travelling similar places' instead of 'visiting similar places'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of sophisticated or precise language prevents a higher score. Expanding the range of topic-specific vocabulary would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('future generation need'), incorrect verb forms ('they don't allowed me'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often fragmented, which affects the overall flow. While the student attempts to use complex sentences, these are often marred by errors in tense or word order. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
