Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development is limited. The ideas, such as the influence of social media and the lack of historical knowledge, are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with specific, detailed examples. The position is clear, but the arguments remain somewhat repetitive. To improve, you should expand on the 'why' by discussing the psychological need for social validation or the impact of digital culture more deeply, rather than just stating that people want to post on social media.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'First of all', 'On other side'). There are also issues with referencing; for example, the connection between sentences is sometimes abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. The paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the logical flow required for a higher band. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence builds clearly upon the previous one will enhance coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision needed for a higher score. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'phenomial trend', 'young youth', and 'social media updation'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'vistores' and 'thoses'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word formation and collocation limit the score. You should focus on learning more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling of common academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'By taking pictures are the more trending' and 'its help to make life easier'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation. These errors are noticeable and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing errors in verb tenses and pluralisation before attempting more complex structures.
