Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people nowadays like to visit tourist destination to take photos of themselves, even without looking at the place. I think this is a negative development , and reasons for the same will be elaborated in the ensuing paragraphs before drawing a rational conclusion at the end.
To begin with, there are many tourist places, which represent deep history. However, people will not learn it, as they only visit there to take photos only. For example, In India, Statue of unity is famous tourist attraction, which is made in memory of Sardar Patel who played an important role in India's freedom. Unfortunately, people visit this place only to take selfies and photos, which they can later upload on social media. They never put effort to learn more about Sardar Patel and his significant contribution in India's freedom movement against Britishers.
Moreover, people usually go on holidays to take break from their daily work routines. If people only spend their time to take photos, then they will miss interesting activities. To explain, people should take time do certain exciting activities such as hiking, bungee jumping, and tracking instead of just taking too many photographs. People can create more memories by doing such activities, which will also help to get relax and refresh their mind.
In conclusion, taking too many photographs at the well-known places is negative trend because people will waster their time on taking photos, and may fail to appreciate real history. Additionally, they will not gain any actual experience of that place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why people prioritize photography over experiencing a location and expressing a clear negative stance. The ideas are relevant, such as the loss of historical appreciation and the missed opportunity for genuine engagement. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example of the Statue of Unity is a good start, but the explanation remains a bit superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the psychological or social drivers behind this trend—such as the 'fear of missing out' or the validation-seeking nature of social media—rather than just stating that people take photos. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of analysis could be more sophisticated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For instance, the phrase 'reasons for the same' is slightly awkward in this context. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure is easy to follow, though the connection between ideas could be smoother to achieve a more natural flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'tourist destination,' 'social media,' and 'freedom movement.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural collocations or word choices, such as 'waster their time' (should be 'waste') and 'get relax' (should be 'relax'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. For example, instead of 'take a break,' you could use 'seek respite' or 'unwind.' The current range is sufficient for communication but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'visit tourist destination' (missing article 'a'), 'made in memory of' (should be 'built in memory of'), 'They never put effort to learn' (should be 'They never put effort into learning'), and 'is negative trend' (missing article 'a'). Punctuation is generally fine, but the consistency of error-free sentences is not high enough for a band 7. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and prepositional phrases will significantly improve your accuracy.
