Student answer (Band 6.0)

In these days and ages, people are visiting famous places very significantly but not for gathering information of that place, just to take photographs. I personally ponder that it is a negative development and in this essay I will discuss possible reason that why it is happening.

In the first place, one major reason for visitors to visiting well-known place for taking pictures is to follow the trend. As it is known, individuals are utilizing their time on social media platforms such as Instagram and Youtube. They easily find out popular locations where they can take photographs and post those photos on their social media accounts. Additionally, after posting such pictures on social accounts they shows other people that they have also explored the famous place. As an outcome, they found themselves satisfied after following the same trend which society is already following.

Furthermore, In my point of view, such type of mindset towards the popular places exploration is always a negative development. However, people capture photographs of themselves is one thing but they should also show their interest in the historic story also. Without taking knowledge about visited place, one can never understand its origin or historic value. Even they can not pass that information to the next generations also. For instance, There is one museum named City Palace in Udaipur, majority of tourists go there to capture photos without going inside to understand the history of that palace.

To summarize the above narratives, people visit well-known places in order to fit into the society by following trend but In my opinion it is a negative development as they are not interested about its historic value and that creates bad impact on the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the mention of social media is relevant, the explanation of why this is a 'negative development' could be more deeply explored beyond the loss of historical knowledge. The example of the City Palace is a good attempt at supporting the argument, but the overall depth of analysis remains at a basic level, preventing it from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'In the first place,' 'Additionally,' and 'Furthermore' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, some of the transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and sentence flow, such as the awkward phrasing in the introduction and the repetitive structure of the concluding paragraph. Overall, the information is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using less common vocabulary, such as 'narratives' and 'origin,' but there are also instances of awkward collocation and word choice, such as 'in these days and ages' (a cliché) and 'popular places exploration.' The range is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('they shows other people'), article usage ('the famous place'), and prepositional phrases ('information of that place'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'one major reason for visitors to visiting well-known place.' These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score.
