Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a clear position that it is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding globalization is mentioned but not clearly explained or linked back to the act of taking photographs. The explanation of why people visit these places is also quite general. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, well-developed examples that directly support your claims rather than relying on broad statements. The conclusion is also quite brief and repeats points already made without adding depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'First and foremost', and 'Furthermore' to link your points. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical or forced. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between social media and personal memories could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the final paragraph is very short and lacks a strong concluding thought.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'recognised locations', and 'globalization'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and minor errors, such as 'the masses get attracted' (should be 'are attracted') and 'Tourisma nd' (a clear typo). You rely on some repetitive structures and basic collocations. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that your word choices are natural. For example, instead of 'beautiful pictures', you could use 'aesthetically pleasing photographs' or 'captivating imagery'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'there are numerous reasons available, that is why individuals prefer' (a comma splice/run-on) and 'this trend came as wella as inhabitants interact'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
