Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, a growing number of individuals are visiting famous locations to capture pictures of themelves, without exploring those sites. There are several reason behind this situation. I believe this situation is largely negative development.

The most obvious reason of this argument is social medias. These days, individuals are sharing a majority of things such as photoes, short videos, and thought because of that they are visiting well-known venues to click numerous photographs of themselves, so they can post those picture in social medias. They could receive multiple good comments and their pictures will get viral over the goble and in return they get fame and recognition. For example, in many countries, people are travelling various places to capture their pictures. Thus, they can show those images to their friends and colleagues.

The most worrying aspect of this trend is value and knowledge of famous sites. Individuals are offenly visiting those venues to shoot videos and photoes because of that they do not enrich their historical details and ancient value of those locations. For instance, in numerous nations, the authorities impose some rules and regulations at famous places even though they are prohibiting to take pictures and videos at that spots. Therefore, individuals are exploring those venues extremely careful with details due to tha fact that it elevates their knowlwdge and information of those famous sites.

To sum up, the huge numbers of people are visiting well-known spots to click some pictures of themeselves because of the social medias trends but I believe is is negative trend because they do not explore those places in the details.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why this is happening (social media influence) and whether it is a positive or negative trend (negative). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding social media is clear, but the second body paragraph is confusing; it attempts to argue that people should explore sites with detail, but the logic regarding authorities and rules is disjointed and does not clearly support the main argument. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The most obvious reason', 'For example', and 'To sum up', which help the flow. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between rules/regulations and the argument about 'historical details' is not well-linked. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between sentences could be smoother to avoid a repetitive feel.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors ('themelves', 'photoes', 'goble', 'offenly', 'knowlwdge', 'tha fact') and word choice issues ('social medias' instead of 'social media', 'historical details' used incorrectly). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is limited to common terms. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling of basic terms, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('There are several reason'), article usage, and awkward phrasing ('without exploring those sites' is fine, but 'without looking at the place' is slightly unnatural). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure in the second paragraph is often clunky, which hinders the clarity of the argument. While communication is not impeded, the frequent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
